Why are we unique?
We were the first to establish the
practice of picture books in child-rearing programs and the first family and
children’s library in the entire country built in 2000, which closed 40
libraries in 2014.
With our extensive experience, over 20 +
years now, we have built and fostered trust in local schools and
communities. We have tried different approaches, evaluating the results each
time and adjusting the method where necessary.
Currently, the TWA is involved in
school-based reading programs that bring books, training, and program
administration into small schools. This reading program is necessary to assist
teachers and parents in raising their children to be successful learners,
despite their circumstances.
Alongside various innovative
reading-based activities we have successfully conducted, we are directly
involved in childcare centers, pre-schools, primary schools, and communities in rural and urban regions. We have also successfully run reading campaigns, which
the general population across the nation has adopted.
Most importantly:
To this day, we are the only independent organization that provides books, training, and ongoing support for schools desperate in need. Most children will not have the opportunity to learn how to read or acquire new books without the essential support of the Tai Wisdom Association.
Right now, the most significant need is
to keep up with the hungry demand for books for young children. To keep
providing books regardless of economic and social status, please consider partnering with the Tai Wisdom Association.
