Why TWA

For more than two decades, our commitment has centered on advancing reading initiatives and assisting underserved schools and communities. Pioneering the integration of picture books into child-rearing programs and establishing the first family and children’s library nationwide, we have been at the forefront of innovative approaches to literacy promotion. Through our extensive experience, we have built enduring relationships of trust with local schools and communities.

Presently, we are deeply engaged in implementing reading programs within schools, providing access to books, training, and program management for smaller educational institutions. These initiatives play a vital role in empowering educators and parents to nurture successful learners, regardless of their circumstances. Our track record includes the successful execution of diverse reading-centered activities and campaigns, which have garnered widespread adoption throughout the country.

Crucially, we stand as the sole independent organization offering books, training, and ongoing assistance to schools facing dire circumstances. Without our intervention, many children would lack the opportunity to develop essential literacy skills or access new reading materials.
